New Year - New Resolutions - New Plans

New Year, time for heaps of Resolutions and promises etc etc NOPE!! 

This year I have not made a single resolution. I have instead embarked upon the journey that is One Little Word. This year my word for the year is SHINE, it takes work to shine and there are going to be a lot of changes going on in my life. 

My work life revolves around the internet a lot these days and although I still work in a physical bricks and mortar shop - retail has changed. Facebook is a requirement, my days involve lots of social media. My life seems to involve lots of social media.

I find I repeat myself from Facebook account to Facebook account to instagram etc etc, but with all this going on I have totally ignored the one place I can write down all my thoughts and news and going on's - my BLOG. I have forgotten this is the ideal place to showcase my work, share the courses and classes I am doing (teaching and participating in ) - let you be a part of "A Funkibubl Life"

So whilst contemplating ways to bring "SHINE" to my life, I have started to make some huge changes. You will see under the header all my pages, I am currently participating in Ali Edwards OLW, and Story Kit/Stamps (a sort of class), my Project life pages :), 12WBT - 12week body transformation course, my Genealogy project, and my Family page. These pages are not final and will probably get tweaked and changed as I go. 

I don't know how often I will blog - but if this is going to be my "hub" possibly daily but no promises - that would be too resolution like. I the next few days I will try to fill up the pages with lots of goodies to keep you interested. 

It will be good having you along for the ride :)

This week in Review....

well not quite, but it has been a super busy week for me! I have been writing and preparing (and learning) how to do the Papertrenz newsletter. 
I have designed and prepared 2 classes and taught another. I prepared the Icosahedron model for the UWA ladies to attempt tonight. 
Oh and it was Simon's Birthday, so special birthday brekkie and friends over for dinner, for special birthday dinner! PHEW all with the normal grind of baby wrangling, and trying to keep the house from escaping (failing in the last - there is always next week, RIGHT!?) Life is great, here are some of my projects I accomplished.

Hello Funkibods!
I have not been too good at keeping this blog up to date, but hang in there peeps! Molly is going well she is 8mths old, and I am sticking my toes back into the creative waters. Although not ready to run off back to work per se just yet! I have been designing a couple of kits and organising and running a few classes for Papertrenz, which has been awesome! I have also been active on the UWA front trying to get it up running and functional. All of which is do-able from home with a couple of exceptions. So hopefully stay tuned for lots of eye candy and posts. Here is the double layout I will be teaching in a couple of weeks

Me in a Magazine!

Hello Peeps
Well I have been GAGGIN to share this with you all, but until I actually saw it in the flesh I did not quite believe it!
I have been published! I had been commissioned to do some work for Australian Scrapbook Ideas way back in May. It was about a form of scrap booking which is sort of harking back to how scrap booking used to be, for example just any old book, a collection of photos and all the tickets programmes etc, with not so much importance placed on producing artwork - more about keeping memories. It is why I really like the project life idea!

 So here it is Australian Scrapbook ideas, issue 16. It was released in September.
I feature on pages 44,45,46, and 47. Yes a four page spread! Bit excited!

My lovely friend Barbara came and took some late stage bump shots for me! these are my faves. I am 37 weeks Pregnant this week.

It took me a while!

Well talk about frustration, because I had bought the domain name using blogger and Godaddy. Once it expired they tried to auto charge my credit card DUH! there is never any money on there! So once expired to recover and re-new costs around $300 - so not happening! It has taken me this long to work out how to remove the custom domain name from the site to enable you all to start visiting me again!
But now I am here back up and running and making do with the free service for now.
I have not been up to too much crafty goodness lately, with being pregnant/disabled and all! but what I have done I will get to sharing with you all. Mostly those who love Stampin' Up! should try to check out my other site too as I am going to be putting more effort into that as a business! http://www.stampinup-funkibubl.blogspot.com.au/
Also in checking the link I got a security warning in case I had stolen my identity, rest assured this is still me!!!

Post Convention Waffle!

Here's hopin that you all had as much fun at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo as I did. I managed to squeeze in 3 classes, with Julie Van Oosten, Stacey Rigby, and Louisa Kenny, and Angela Peardon. All of whom are amazingly talented ladies. I spent 2 whole days catching up with my bestie Wendy, which I probably value most of all! I have not had too much chance to spend any free time recently. The other highlight was helping out the Uber talented Jane Tregenza, such a lovely person and a fantastic person I feel I learn something from Jane every time I catch up with her, seriously check out her website it is full of the most stunning eye candy and Jane is going to be doing an online tutorial/kit combo with Graphic45 to make one of her "books". I am so signing up!

Today I have been to an all day class with ....... T!m Holtz........ The man himself!!!! and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW

he really is an awesome instructor and very, very amusing and I learned heaps, ok so I already knew alot about ranger/distress products and what you could achieve with them but now I have a more in depth knowledge base, and can better teach using them and advise on tips and tricks and the whys and whynots!

More than that though, I got to meet the man!!! and get my "me n Tim" photo,  and autograph.

May 2012 Card Kit

  

I have been a very busy bee of late and have I confess woefully neglected my blog, members of my family, friends, some social interactions etc. What has been keeping me so busy? Well I have discovered I am pregnant! Must have been around Valentines day as baby is due on 7th November. I have been very very sick for the first trimester, unable to raise my poor carcass out of my pit, for days in a row. However things have turned a corner! My mum visited from the UK and was a great help in getting me organised for the next stressful event I have moved house!! Yep we are back to renting for a while, the house is huge as Amy (my 21YO daughter) and her boyfriend Michael decided to stay with us. I have also been doing heaps of crafty work designing card kits and running some classes for my local scrapbook store! Stamp and Scrapbook Madness. I am back to working in Emergency too, although only part time, and private hospital emergency so far more sensible. I have lots of exciting things coming up over the next few weeks so will be updating on here regularly and posting lots of lovely images!

Happy New Year

Wow 2012 people!!!! My good friend Wendy reminded me the other day that I have been really slack in the blog dept, it is true. There is no real excuse and, at the moment life is not being very cooperative in allowing me time to communicate......However I will endeavour to keep it up but no promises. I have been up to heaps of stuff, designing about a million cards for Stamp and Scrapbook Madness (SSM), I am currently designing the February kit.
Last night I did a truly awesome class taught by my good friend Barbara, in which we made a birthday card book, in the vague hopes we all get more organized! It is really cleverly designed and I foresee a new addiction on the horizon.
I have been ogling and drooling over some of the new releases about to be revealed at the CHA via sneak peaks, Fiona the Owner (SSM) is off there soon and I am eagerly awaiting more sneak peaks. Among my faves are the new Tim Holtz wordplay die, Cosmo Cricket, and Graphic 45 ooo and spellbinders has some cool new dies too.
Anyway just a quick Interlude, back soon!

Ouch a whole month since the last post!!! not good enough, how am I to become a craft guru if I keep being so slack. Enough self punishment I have been bust in the craft room and promise to load up some goodies for you in the next few days so keep your peepers open!! Friday Fun

This week I have been busy preparing lots of samples to showcase the new goodies available from the new Stampin' UP! catalogue. I have been mixing it up and trying out lots of different and unusual colour combinations, to assist me with this I have been making use of the Stampin' UP! Color Coach.

I have discovered that this is a fantastic way to try out different schemes that you would never have considered before, even if you do not have the exact cardstock. For instance Calypso coral is quite close in colour to Tangerine Tango so I checked out the options suggested for Tangerine Tango and gave it a go. I have also found it is a good way to boost your creative mojo! also as an added benefit it enables you to see all of the Stampin' UP! colours and compare and contrast so you can find just what your heart desires!

Maryanne's demo/party

This card was designed whilst at a demonstration at Maryanne's house. It had been floating around in my head for a while and as usual I was gleefully unprepared for the party! So I decided to design, arrange, demo it all completely on the fly! The ladies were fabulous and all felt comfortable adapting the colour-way/stamps to suit their tastes. The array of cards they made were really good. It was a fanastic party.

Sorry guys I know I have been very slack! But I am busy busy busy! Barbara has had me chained to her computer desk, repairing her computer aka constructing the super computer so that Dion can take over the world......or some such thing. Said computer is not playing the game and things have not been straightforward.
Craft has kinda taken a backseat and I miss it! I was hoping to have exciting news regarding my classes/workshops but I have possibly got to postpone the news as I may have to return to work, as I am now deemed fit! I find out more this week.
So during the coming week I promise to update you all on all my happenings and provide you with some crafty eye candy! This post is duplicated on my stampin up blog......due to laziness.

Tidied up the craft studio

This week I have had a rearrange in my studio, with the intention of holding my small home classes in there. It is still a mess but is going well. I think I will be able to hold small classes of four people in there, comfortably, six if I pushed it!
It will also be a nicer creative environment to work in, I am gonna put up some frames showcasing the designer series papers, and providing a splash of color.
